Book Review in 10 Sentences or Less

The Girl's Guide to Vampires by Kate MacAlister
My 1st attempt at Katie MacAlister didn't go so well, but so many people sang her praises that I decided to give her another try. I read The Girl's Guide, the first in her Dark Ones series, and well, I'm still not impressed. I didn't hate it, but I didn't love it either. She didn't develop the characters enough to make me care about them. The story line, though typical for a vampire romance, was interesting enough, but the beginning of the book hinted at a steamy triangle that never materialized. In fact, the vampire seemed kind of nerdy and pathetic. I have the next book in the series and I will read it, but I'm not dying to sink my teeth into it-pun intended. Kudos to whomever comes up with the titles, let's just hope her writing improves so that the books are just as witty & entertaining.

Book Review in 10 sentences or less: How to Flirt with a Naked Werewolf

I'm a huge fan of Molly Harper's 'Nice Girl's' series, so I had high hopes for this book & that always leads to a little disappointment. This one didn't catch me from the beginning & it was a bit predictable, but hey, it's a romance, what did I expect? Once I stopped comparing 'Flirt' to Harper's other books, I really started to enjoy it. Overall I found the book entertaining, amusing & a fun read. It's light on the paranormal & heavy on the romance, but the characters are fun, believable & likable. I would have loved to see more of Mo's hippie parents, but this was a fun way to spend a lazy evening.
